The Reclaimed Lubelska Brick Tile CODE: LUBY—a format originally pioneered by Lubelska.

Being family-run allows us to remain closely involved at every stage—from sourcing and production through to consultation and delivery. We work attentively with each client, listening carefully to their needs and guiding them with clarity and discretion. The result is a considered, seamless experience and surfaces that feel both deeply personal and timeless.

OUR FAMILY HISTORY

Rooted in British heritage, our story began in 1985, when I met my Polish wife in the UK, where we were later married in London. At the time, my professional life was centred on the timber trade, buying and selling high-quality materials across Europe. Frequent journeys to Poland—to source timber and to visit family—proved formative. During these travels, I encountered numerous abandoned and derelict buildings. Though neglected, their bricks, roof tiles, and oak cladding remained remarkably intact, shaped by time yet uncompromised in strength or beauty.

From this discovery emerged a simple but transformative idea: to reclaim these materials and give them a second life. Our son, Edward, later joined the business, and today we run Lubelska together—a family enterprise built on shared values, experience, and continuity.

THE BEGINNING: THE ORIGINAL LUBELSKA RECLAIMED BRICK TILE

Lubelska began with a single reclaimed brick. From early sites in Poland, we began carefully salvaging historic bricks from structures that had reached the end of their use, where these materials would otherwise have been discarded or lost.

Through a sensitive and deliberate process, each brick was reclaimed and transformed into a refined floor tile—a form that would later become widely adopted, but which we originated.

This original reclaimed brick tile, now closely associated with interiors of depth and authenticity, is what we call the LUBY.

Though similar tiles are now sold elsewhere under different names, Lubelska was the original founder of this format. The LUBY tile embodies our philosophy: respect for material history, restraint in design, and a belief that true beauty emerges through time, not trend.

What began as one reclaimed brick laid the foundation for everything that followed.

SUSTAINABILITY

By reclaiming bricks, roof tiles, and timber from existing structures, we extend the life of materials already rich in history and integrity. This approach reduces waste, limits unnecessary extraction, and preserves craftsmanship that would otherwise be lost.

Sustainability, for us, speaks to the very essence of the materials themselves—surfaces shaped by time, designed not to be replaced but to endure. Unlike short-lived finishes, our floors are intended to age gracefully, developing patina and depth rather than wear. They resist the logic of planned obsolescence, offering permanence in a world of disposability.

Through a careful, considered process, each material is respected in origin and refined for contemporary living. The result is flooring created not for seasons or trends, but for life—surfaces that remain relevant, functional, and beautiful for generations.

ASK THE EXPERTS

Lubelska is recognised for its expertise in reclaimed brick flooring, terracotta tiles, reclaimed oak, and natural stone surfaces. Our knowledge is grounded not only in years of experience, but in direct involvement with the materials themselves.

We take pride in offering informed, thoughtful guidance—balancing technical understanding with aesthetic sensitivity. Every client is different, and every space deserves careful consideration. By listening closely and advising honestly, we ensure each project feels effortless, confident, and deeply considered.

THE RESULTS

All Lubelska surfaces are made to order. This allows us to deliver flooring and surfaces that are not only distinctive, but genuinely unique. Our current collection includes thirteen reclaimed brick and terracotta tile styles, each with its own nuance of tone, texture, and history.

Versatile by nature, our materials sit comfortably within both contemporary and traditional settings. The result is flooring that feels grounded, authentic, and enduring—surfaces that age beautifully and continue to reward long after installation.
